three times I followed a prompting

1. I was at the temple and as I walked out overheard a conversation between a lady and the brother at the desk. She was asking how to get the baptistery and he was giving her instructions. As soon as I walked out the door, the thought came to turn around and offer help. I told myself no way no how. I don’t talk to strangers. Seriously. And yet the feeling wouldn’t leave. So I turned around and waited by the door, telling myself the brother at the desk would follow the lady out and be showing her the way. Well. He didn’t come out so when she came out with her daughters, I asked if I could show them the way. They were very grateful, said this was the last temple they had to visit in Utah and were so excited. Then I left them to finish walking in and I went to my car.
2. I was driving to the theatre and passed someone I know walking on the side of the road. I know where he works and where he lives and thought if he was walking home that would be an awful long walk in the heat. So the thought came to turn around and offer a ride. I immediately said no way. We aren’t that good of friends, I have somewhere to be, he will think it’s weird. The thought brought actual weight to my mind so I finally turned around and pulled over to talk to him. Turned out he was only going one more block and I didn’t give him a ride. But I felt good anyway.
3. Last night while playing some music the thought came that I should record and share it. I don’t do that. Ever. But, once again, the thought wouldn’t go away. So I did it and I’m sharing it. Phew.

Book Review: Loving Like Jane

I really REALLY enjoyed this book. It was fun and witty from start to finish. I loved the Jane Austen quotes and learning more about her life was fascinating. Allie and Beckett are such fun characters that really grew on me as the story developed. I appreciated how things progressed between them, it felt natural and not pushed or rushed. Great story-line and great writing.
