It's amazing that I'm trying to remember what happened in January since I generally can't remember anything that happened 2 hours ago. But hey! If we didn't get points for trying, the scale would be very unbalanced.
Also, before I dive in, I'm excited to start blogging semi-regularly again. I know I know I've said this a zillion times since we opened the theatre and life has become madness (not like angry madness, like crazy madness ok?). However! I've come to the brilliant realization that since I can't sleep in anyway, I may as well write about the things happening in my life. So I'm excited to move toward this better-me record-keeping thing. (Don't judge if in two weeks I haven't posted anything again. *sigh*)
On to January! A few things I want to remember:
-'Charley's Aunt' performed Jan 13-21. It was a blast. I was double-cast which was hard in some ways and nice in others. I liked not having the stress of performing every night and being able to fill all my multiple roles but I also missed hanging out with the cast backstage and sharing in that fun. The cast was great. I really enjoyed the people in the show. Several of them I haven't worked with since high school and I appreciated the opportunity to reconnect with them. There was one night with a heart-to-heart where another girl approached me and started talking to me about our time in high school together and things she regretted. It was a really special moment for me because I was able to share things too that have bothered me for years. We got to talk for awhile and I think we both felt better after. I'm so glad we're friends again.
-During the run of 'Charley's Aunt', we had auditions for 'Little Women'. I was definitely inspired to invite Jen - our director - to be part of the show. She was phenomenal in every way. I can't thank her enough for her work and dedication to the theatre and to the show and to the cast. She gave 1000% and it showed in the cast, the crew, and the beauty of the show. Auditions went well, the show was cast - I made it in! (More on that later.) And rehearsals began under the direction of a truly amazing person & director. One of the best I've worked with and I've worked with some amazing people.
-January brought a backward slide in Hannalyn's potty training. She was doing SO GOOD then got sick for a week which messed up everything. She was miserable, I was miserable, and we were back to full diapers all the time and screaming when I tried to put Hannalyn on the toilet. That was fun.
-January was dark and dismal for me in many ways and also filled with glorious bursts of light and inspiration. I prayed. A LOT. I cried. A LOT. I questioned & doubted & worried & fretted. I was blessed with insight, with courage, with strength, and with friends who cared enough about me to check on me along the way. I haven't had friends like that in such a long time. It was a beautiful month with hard and exhilarating moments all tied together. Just like life.
So that's January. Or at least, the important parts that I remember. I'll post more about my audition and role in Little Women soon. It was the most incredible journey.
Happy Tuesday. <3

No posts in January
Can you believe it is February? I can't.
Wherever the last two months went, I think I'd like them back. We'll, maybe not. The last two months have been crazier than crazy and more stressful than I imagined possible but they have also been incredible in so many ways.
So I need to do some catching up. But I won't be rehashing everything like I wish Icouls. Simple because as important as documenting the past is to me, even more important is documenting the present. I haven't done a great job of that recently, but I am choosing to move forward and improve from here. At least I'll try to.
So here are some quick thoughts about December:
-Christmas Carol at the theatre consumed my holiday. It was beautiful and wonderful and I was so pleased with the end result but MAN I was grateful it was over. My cast worked hard my crew showed up the audiences were to capacity. It was a miracle.
-I was invited to be part of the show to perform in Jan that started rehearsing in Dec. I didn't think I would get that opportunity and at first I was unsure. The cast and the director quickly put my gears to rest and I had a great time with beautiful friends. It was a great show and we had a blast making everyone laugh.
-Christmas was a beautiful day. All of my siblings were in Vernal and we had an incredible holiday. I was emotional and grateful. Church services were gorgeous and spirit-filled. Although I hated Christmas on Sunday as a child, I would do it again in a heartbeat as an adult. I loved it.
-My family is my world. I am so grateful for them and so excited to continue learning from them and growing with them. These wonderful people that bless my life were brought closer to me than ever during the celebrations surrounding the birth of my Savior.
-God is real. Life and the world is scary. But I can't despair. I know that God is in control and that He has a plan and will make all well if I do my best every day in every way.
It feels good to be back. <3
